Pamper yourself

Hi there

How has your week been? Terrible times in the USA with the hurricane
puts ones own worries into perceptive dont you think?

It was my Daughters birthday a couple of days ago so here is
her card which I made for her.

the back

the inside

I have used Hunkydory Pampered Paws kit to make the card

Thought she needed to be pampered so I hope she liked it.

Nearly sorted out my craft room now and all set to get back to doing
my crafting which I am looking forward too.

I was at the Village Hall this week with my cards and had people
throw their hands up in horror when I displayed my Christmas Cards
but I have to say that there are only 8 more coffee morning before the Big Day!!

Where has this year gone?

Well that is me for now.

Been busy making Bean Chutney, had to beg and borrow jars this year.

Looks like it will be tomato chutney next :)

Have a great day

Happy Summer Holidays

Hi there

Well I am here writing this on August Bank Holiday for the post today

So think it is quite in order to say "I expect there are a lot of people with this on their minds"

I have used the image from Dr Digi

I have coloured in the image with alcohol pens and then designed the background using
colour pencils.

Added a sun and the words

I hope you like it and hope to see you over on LTSCB for this month.

Happy days

WOYWW

Hi there

Well I have been so busy these last few weeks I thought I would post to

as there is now NOTHING apart from a few bits on my worktop today.

Den has made me a new room "in his shed" for my crafting

So I am moving in.... it may only be a few yards but have you ever moved all your craft items?

It is mental here, so much stuff which I had forgotten I had and start to look at
and then forget what I am doing.

Been beautiful weather here too, so gardening has taken up much of my time
making chutney, freezing fruit and of course eating it.

Here is a photo of our garden just as a taster for you. I think you should be able to
see a small part of my new home for crafting

I have been busy with sewing again which has been taking some of my time too.
I am actually wearing something I made today

On a different note.....

Hope, if you are in Houston, or anywhere in the USA that you are safe

Have a great day and will be back again very soon

Whats in my garden

Hi there

Well it seems to have been sometime since I last wrote a post about
what I am up too

Before the rain came today I was out in the garden picking my veg.

First a photo of the greenhouse with tomatoes

A box of picked veg

NOW what to do with all those beans

The same as I did yesterday make Bean Chutney

so here if you are interested is the recipe

1 kilo Green beans
4 shallots ( I use onions - say 2 whole onions)
1 clove garlic (if you dont like it leave it out)
1 teaspoon root ginger
675 grams dark brown sugar ( or use what you have)
1 tablespoon tumeric
1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard ( I use English as I have that in the store cupboard)
1.5 tablespoon Cornflour
850 ml Vinager

Easy

Cook beans and onions / shallots together till tender

Drain - Course chop

Add back to pan beans, garlic, ginger, sugar 700 ml vinegar

Boil for 15 mins

Mix rest of vinegar with tumeric, mustard, cornflour

Pour mix into beans

Stir and boil for 15 mins

Cool and then put in jars.

this makes around 5   1lb jars of chutney  and lasts ages. In fact it gets better with age.

So if you have too many beans it is a good way to use them up. I tried to sell bags of
beans at the Village Hall coffee morning this week but no one wanted them. Their loss my gain.

I have had so many beans I am over run with them.

And Marrows too. But those will be used next to make Marrow Jam.

Anyway I hope you are having a good day and I will be back again soon.

Busy with needlework, sewing and card making.

I have just found a new needlework hobby Redwork - I am finding it so
relaxing to do in the evenings or watching TV.

Hope to show you something soon.

So always busy

Back to school - too early

Hi there

Thank you for popping in to see me today.

Have to say that I have been so busy making some clothes that I have not
been around to post my cards.

That has been happening in the background.

It was my Grand-daughters birthday this month - 20 years old

WHERE does the time go.

Anyway here is my card for the mid month inspriation
over at LTSCB

I hope you like it

I have used my alcohol pens to colour in and used distress inks for the back ground

Mounted onto black card and onto a green card blank.

Its a bit difficult to see the names I have spotted 2 so far.

Think it may be a nice card for my Grandson who is 7 next month.

Hope to see you over at Love to Scrap Challenge Blog

Have a good day

sewing revolution

Good morning all

Well I have been more involved with sewing over the last few weeks,
I have been so inspired with materials that I have been making
bags and zip bags and this week my first item of clothing

It has been many many years since I made something and although it
may not be totally right.

I am pleased with it.

While in the making Den thought it was an apron due to the pockets, so I said I need something
for my tissues.

Well it is a tunic. It needs a bit of tweaking today the ties are a bit high for me.

Going to try making a top today, but think the pattern is a bit big -
so not sure if it will be ok.... make and then adjust maybe.

I have the problem of big boobs and big hips (at the moment) although I am very pleased
to say I have lost a stone in weight

So here is the photo of the tunic

Well best be going I have added my photo to Jeniffer Taylor's Facebook site under the
#sewingrevolution

Have a great day

Gillyflowers

Hi there

Well thought I would just pop in this morning with my card for the latest challenge
over at

My plan was to go out into the garden to pick the blackcurrants but it is raining
again. But today I really must pick them and not have the problem I had the other day

The blackbirds ate all my gooseberries during the rain !!!

Well here is my card

I have used Serif programme to make this card topper.

Printed it off on our new printer and mat and layered onto a card blank.

I hope you like it I have used the name of gillyflowers for this picture trying to
create a flower meadow with apricot colour flowers

Have a good day and catch up again soon

Busy doing the garden picking the fruit and getting into my sewing

Here is my card for this months Challenge over at

LTSCB

I have used Limited Run - Goldfish image

The fish I have printed on special paper and flipped a set of the images to make them
swim the other way.

I have used the background which I have made using a stencil, grunge paste and miro beads

Then used a bit of material from my latest "bargain Bag" and made the seaweed.

Then spent bit of time using my alcohol pens to colour in, cut out and then
construct the picture.

Blue card stock with a circle

Heat has gone

Afternoon all

Well I have to say today I can get back to "normal" these last few days have
been so very hot that I just could not do anything.
Sat down, stood up, moved from one place to another but it was far too
hot.
How was it for you??

Glad to say today it is much more normal temperature but we could do with rain.

I hear some places have had rain, so fingers crossed it will arrive here.
Been out and doing gardening - well fruit picking to be honest.
Trying to get my fruit before the birds do.

Well here is a card I made just before the heatwave.

I have used my screen printing - masking off an area from a screen to make the
topper.

This is the unit before I start

Did the printing (sorry no photos) cut down the image and mounted onto mirri card
then onto a Craft work cards paper on a blank white card.

Added a sentiment of Birthday Wishes.

I would like to enter it for the following

Challenges

I hope that the card will meet with the critia for the above challenges

Think that a Dandelion is very much an English flower and if it was not a "weed"
I am sure it would have won a Gold at Chelsea Flower Show.

Here is my photo of todays pickings !!!

This was the temperature indoors yesterday !!!

Anyway best dash now and chase off those birds again

Gone gardening

Afternoon all

Well after my post the other day I though I would give my today's
post the heading Gone Gardening

Cos that is what I have been doing today and over the last few days.

The sun has been out and the weather just beautiful and it is too good to stay in doors
however my crafting has taken a bit of a back seat while it is necessary
to be outside picking my produce.

In all I have picked just over a kilo of fruit
before the birds get it. Dennis says there is enough for all but I LOVE my fruit
and so I pick it while I can.

The blackbirds are eyeing up the currants and gooseberries.

So here are so photos of today.

 Red currants

Josaberry

Gooseberry

All in the freezer now except for the raspberries they are for tea.

I am pleased to say the Mum is much better now back home from her time in
hospital. Got to say it was a real worry as the food is not good in hospital so she was
not eating very well.

Also I got those phone calls from her which sounded so frail that I did wonder.

Anyway all is ok for now.

Thank you all for your good wishes and thoughts over this difficult
time for me.

I hope to get back into doing a regular blog - well I keep on saying that -
but Dennis has not worked for the last month and as you can imagine it has been
difficult to find my mojo.

Have a great time where ever you may be.

Gone Fishing

Hi there

Thank you for joining me today

I have been working on the latest Design Team entry for

 Love to Scrap Challenge blog

and here is my entry

using image provided by sponsor
Jumping Fish and Fishing Rules greeting
(DRS Designs)

I started by printing off the image onto smooth paper and using a mixture of
pens and watercolour pens coloured in the image.

I used a Kraft type card stock to make the card.

I found a bit of material which I thought looked a little like fishing net and stuck it down onto
the card blank.

Added the toppers to black card stock and mounted onto the card blank. I have added
glitter pen to the fish to make it look like "just out the water" but you
may not be able to see it ?

I hope you like it and I look forward to seeing you over at the Challenge
Boyz Rule

Have a great day

what a new bag

Afternoon all

Well good news is that Mum is now back home. Been a great worry all round
but would not say that she is out the woods yet.

I have been having fun over this last week making bags

so here is my bag.

A few steps along the way :)

pocket as you will see I have used up the material by machining 2 pieces together.
The pocket is lined.

It is lined with a large pocket on the inside.

Really enjoying making things like this.

Going to try to make some purses next.

I do have a question if you can help

I have a purse which has the following material and I do not know
where to get more from

I still have about a meter but this was in a kit.

All I see is that it is called Dash.

Any help would love to know if I can get more.

It is a type of Cotton Canvas / poplin / duck materiel?

Well have a great day
