Heat has gone

Afternoon all

Well I have to say today I can get back to "normal" these last few days have
been so very hot that I just could not do anything.
Sat down, stood up, moved from one place to another but it was far too
hot.
How was it for you??

Glad to say today it is much more normal temperature but we could do with rain.

I hear some places have had rain, so fingers crossed it will arrive here.
Been out and doing gardening - well fruit picking to be honest.
Trying to get my fruit before the birds do.

Well here is a card I made just before the heatwave.

I have used my screen printing - masking off an area from a screen to make the
topper.

This is the unit before I start

Did the printing (sorry no photos) cut down the image and mounted onto mirri card
then onto a Craft work cards paper on a blank white card.

Added a sentiment of Birthday Wishes.

I would like to enter it for the following

Challenges

I hope that the card will meet with the critia for the above challenges

Think that a Dandelion is very much an English flower and if it was not a "weed"
I am sure it would have won a Gold at Chelsea Flower Show.

Here is my photo of todays pickings !!!

This was the temperature indoors yesterday !!!

Anyway best dash now and chase off those birds again

Gone gardening

Afternoon all

Well after my post the other day I though I would give my today's
post the heading Gone Gardening

Cos that is what I have been doing today and over the last few days.

The sun has been out and the weather just beautiful and it is too good to stay in doors
however my crafting has taken a bit of a back seat while it is necessary
to be outside picking my produce.

In all I have picked just over a kilo of fruit
before the birds get it. Dennis says there is enough for all but I LOVE my fruit
and so I pick it while I can.

The blackbirds are eyeing up the currants and gooseberries.

So here are so photos of today.

 Red currants

Josaberry

Gooseberry

All in the freezer now except for the raspberries they are for tea.

I am pleased to say the Mum is much better now back home from her time in
hospital. Got to say it was a real worry as the food is not good in hospital so she was
not eating very well.

Also I got those phone calls from her which sounded so frail that I did wonder.

Anyway all is ok for now.

Thank you all for your good wishes and thoughts over this difficult
time for me.

I hope to get back into doing a regular blog - well I keep on saying that -
but Dennis has not worked for the last month and as you can imagine it has been
difficult to find my mojo.

Have a great time where ever you may be.

Gone Fishing

Hi there

Thank you for joining me today

I have been working on the latest Design Team entry for

 Love to Scrap Challenge blog

and here is my entry

using image provided by sponsor
Jumping Fish and Fishing Rules greeting
(DRS Designs)

I started by printing off the image onto smooth paper and using a mixture of
pens and watercolour pens coloured in the image.

I used a Kraft type card stock to make the card.

I found a bit of material which I thought looked a little like fishing net and stuck it down onto
the card blank.

Added the toppers to black card stock and mounted onto the card blank. I have added
glitter pen to the fish to make it look like "just out the water" but you
may not be able to see it ?

I hope you like it and I look forward to seeing you over at the Challenge
Boyz Rule

Have a great day

what a new bag

Afternoon all

Well good news is that Mum is now back home. Been a great worry all round
but would not say that she is out the woods yet.

I have been having fun over this last week making bags

so here is my bag.

A few steps along the way :)

pocket as you will see I have used up the material by machining 2 pieces together.
The pocket is lined.

It is lined with a large pocket on the inside.

Really enjoying making things like this.

Going to try to make some purses next.

I do have a question if you can help

I have a purse which has the following material and I do not know
where to get more from

I still have about a meter but this was in a kit.

All I see is that it is called Dash.

Any help would love to know if I can get more.

It is a type of Cotton Canvas / poplin / duck materiel?

Well have a great day

Under the weather

Well here we are on Friday and another week almost gone.

Where does the time go? Well it has been a bit of a stressful
week.

Mum is back in hospital - she has cellulitis on her arm etc

so here is the card I made for her.

Mum loves cats so thought this would cheer her up in hospital.

Not sure how long she will be in for.

I have used Hunkydory items for this card.

I would like to enter it for the following

Challenge

Well best dash got phone calls to make.

Clay Flowers

Hi there

thank you for popping in today

Here is my entry for the Challenge over at LTCCB for this month

I have used something very different

Clay and made this wee picture which I gave to Mum when we were there the
other weekend

I have used Kay Sue Designs craft products making the
flowers and pots out of clay.

The clay is self drying - in white. Then I have used my alcohol pens to colour in the
flowers and pots.

But before this I made the canvas using chalk paints and a brayer.

Before I added the sun. Note the moss on the pots this is using Flowersoft
which you sprinkle onto glue.

I gave this canvas to Mum when we were last up to Kent to see her.

Something that will last after the flowers I gave her had faded

Would like to enter it for the following

All in the lace

Good morning

I hope you had a good Bank Holiday weekend, mine came and went.

Was out in the garden much of the time while I could doing that
weeding - boy they do grow in this warm weather with rain to help them.

I am very pleased to say that my eldest daughter passed all her teaching exams
so I made this card for her.

I have used Hunkydory kit with "added bits"

I layered up different layers on the card blank after I used red tape
to mount the vintage lace onto the top part.

Added butterfly which was on acetate using 3d glue to mount it.

Added sentiments, glitter to the hat.

I would like to enter it for the following

challenges which asked for layers and bits here is my card

I started off with a bit of card stock which had not worked on a previous
card

I have been surprised with how I have used so many different bit !!!

I would like to enter it for the following

Latest new is the Hochanda have now changed yet again their times they are going
to broadcast on FreeView TV.

From the 1st June no longer viewing in the evenings.

What a shame that Freeview customers are yet again the ones who miss out.
I can not afford to pay for say Sky and my broadband is so slow I can not
watch on Rewind.

Also I use to like to record the shows and watch later.

Well time will tell and I suppose like most things now it is all to do with cost.

Well have a good day and look forward to hearing from you

May brings .....

Hi there thank you for popping in today

What a night - the thunder and lightening storm we had here.

I have never seen or heard such a storm. The lightening was continuous I am sure there
is a special name for that type of lightening - sheet lightening maybe.

NO rain to mention of I have to say but so so hot.

But back to my card today I have been using a CD from Designers Directory  called Men.

I have been working on the latest challenge over at The Craft Barn

Where you have to add the following verse into the picture so thought it would go
well in the cloud.

May brings flocks of pretty lambs
Skipping by their fleecy dams

mounted it onto white card and then onto a gray card blank.

I hope you like my entry and would like to enter it for the following

The Craft Barn Challenge = Twelve Month Challenge

Thank you for your visit and I look forward to seeing you again

The Change of Leaves Colour and texture

Afternoon all

Thank you for popping in today and hope you are well

What a day yesterday via the media with all the news. Terrible thing to
happen in Manchester on 22nd at 10.30pm all those innocent children, young
people and folk.

Been working on my journal again, I am finding I can use my art to relax
without the need to "make" something like a card.

I have plenty of cards at the moment and feel I need some other outlet and to
craft via a journal is helping the journey

Here is my journal page for the challenge 18 over on Facebook

With the theme of

Create a piece of work using the
colours PURPLE, ORANGE & GREEN using the Theme, " The Change,"
The art prompt for this week is " texture "
which is just for inspiration or idea for more journal work.

So here is my page for today

I first used a Clarity Stamp Stencil for the wood background using
three different colours, orange, purple and green blending in the edges

Then I used a variety of different leaves from Card-io stamps to create
texture and the Change of Colour of the seasons.

Well that was my thinking.....

From Spring (green) to Autumn (Orange and Purple)

I hope you like it

Have a good day and hope to see you soon

No words are needed

Afternoon

No words are needed

my craft journal says it all

See you tomorrow or very soon.

Birdie bird and made the top 3's

Good morning

Well what a shock this morning to hear about the bomb in Manchester UK
last night.

Words fail me as to why there are these sorts of people who want to maim and kill
innocent children and people

I feel I need to use my craft to show how I feel so will up date later
this blog.

Very pleased to say that I have made the top 3 or DT favourites for the last few
challenges

Went shopping and when I came home found this
in the garden on the path, all in the wet.

Poor thing

so put it on the table in the dry and keeping an eye on it.

Hope he will be ok......

Well that is it for now....

Off to put the TV on and see what is what and do a bit of crafting
this afternoon.

Take care and my thoughts are with all how have been affected by the
actions in Manchester.

all in the face

Hi there

Well here I am today feeling like getting back to crafting
so thought I would have a play with some
Indigoblu items - stamps and stencil

Started off with a black page and used the face stencil and a smoothie with some
brown ink on - only used it lightly to give the face a glow.

Then used all sorts of ways with the Gelatos pens to make the hair

Added the black stencil music into the hair to keep with the theme over
at

I hope you like it and look forward to getting crafting again
tomorrow

Wednesday thoughts about the weekend

Hi there and thank you for popping in today.

I have to say that over the past few weeks my mind has been on other things.
Why I ask myself, well the reason is that over last weekend
we traveled over to see Mum some 250 miles away.

May not seem too far for some but for me it is a terrible drive using
motorways which are renound for the delays.

The M25

The plan was to have a couple of days of peace and quite with Mum but that was not to be.
Had to take Mum into hospital for a knee injection operation fortunately I went
with her carer who was a saint.

Going private is not all it seems - scheduled to be there at 10 am and we did not get home
till gone 5pm.

A day of stress and worry.

Then Mum of course slept most of Sunday and so we were home on Monday
after a 7 hour journey.

Again there was a hold up at Stonehenge with people slowing down to view
the stones from the cars....

This is on the way

This is on the way home

Well it is done now and I have to say that I am now beginning to feel somewhat better
from all the travel etc etc.

So here are a few photos of Mums garden - on the up side the weather was lovely
Den stayed at the house on Saturday so the rest did him good I am sure.

On Sunday the weather was lovely and we got a chance to sit out in the garden
letting the world go by.
Myrtle (the cat) just loves walking around with someone
(Mum not able to walk in the garden now with out a lot of help)

So here are a couple of photos of Myrtle in the garden

Hope to get back into blogging about my cards and look forward to
hearing from you soon.

But before I go,  I would like to enter for the following

Challenge

SUYP - #18 - FURRYTHING GOES

Thank you for being there and I appreciate your comments.
