All in the pink

Afternoon already !!! I know time goes quick but this is silly.

Had a lovely time up at the Village Hall Sports Day yesterday -- no cooking for tea
as there was a BBQ and Den and I ate cake walking home

Now for my card for today

I have used up all sorts of snippets for this card.

First my pink splodge backing card and a small strip with rather nice patterns.

Then came what have I to use... punched out hearts, snippet of flower die cut
paper Craftwork roses, strange pink butterfly, Tonic butterfly (coloured pink)
and a row of Hunkydory butterflies.

So mounted, glued, and made the card.

Used Worn Lipstick around the edges of a blank card too.... but did not use the very pink
backing card thought it did not need it.

I hope you like it - surprising what you can make from a box of bibs and bobs.

I would like to enter it for the following

Challenges

Well I had best get on - cake in the oven.

Do not want to burn the cake, nearly burnt the jam while I was making it
as Mum called me. Glad to say she is getting bit better, as best she can,
having had another small stroke.

Will be nice as we have arranged to go and visit her in September.

But in the mean time I am sending her my cards which she so loves.

Best go - can smell the cake. !!!

Just as an after thought I thought I would post these quotes...

Think they say a lot in the life today .....

Fun in the sun

Good afternoon all and thank you for coming over
to see me today.

First here is my creation for today - a tag ready for

The Craft Barn Challenge

I started off with my tag and inked up the Sheena Douglas leaf stamp with
watercolour paints and stamped them onto the tag.

Added the word too.....

Here are the flower petals in the making I used copy paper for the flowers
and inked up using Distress inks.
Then using a pen curled up the petals to make the shape of the flower.
Added it to the tag with a definition of C is for Chrysanthemum

I hope you like it and would like to enter it for the following

Challenge

Just a note to say will be sending this via email as there is a problem at the moment
on The Craft Barn Challenge site.

However .....

I hope you are having a great day and the sun is shinning where you are.

The sun is out here today - Been in the garden this morning picking
veg... ready for jam and chutney. And this afternoon I have been up
at the Village Hall Sports Day.

What a great turn out of folk, children, laughter, clapping,
and sticky label prizes being given by everyone who enters a race.

The young children are having a field day - stickers all over their t-shirts.

Up later well in an hour for the next stage of the games, and a BBQ so no cooking
for me tonight :)

I will post some more photo later
but here is one to be going on with....

Well thats it for now and nearly time to pop up to the Village Hall for the
2nd round of activities.

By the sea

I was going to say morning and now see it is the afternoon

So afternoon all - well another week is nearly over.

Been a bit of a roller coaster of emotions, thoughts and "stuff" going on.

But that is life - it is how we react to it all that makes the difference.

I have been working on a Seaside card today.

I used Little Claire peel-off Beach huts and put them onto a white card blank

Added To the Beach and bucket and spade....

I then got out my distress inks, brushes, and watercolour paints to create
the scene.

Used a mask to make the clouds.
Added texture to the "sand" area by using different watercolour pencils, and inks

Added a sentiment and a couple of peel off birds in the sky.

I hope you like it and would like to enter it for the following

Challenges

To keep with the theme of the seaside here is something old which I would like to
share with you over at Erika's

This photo, which I use for cards, was taken around 6 years ago on
Woolacombe Beach North Devon.

I do not know who the surfers are - but they were in the right place at the right time.
And happy to have their photo taken.

Hope you have a good day and look forward
to your visit tomorrow

When a tree falls

Afternoon all

How are you today? Better than most I hope.
Rain here today - had to pop into town first thing to post a parcel
and to the Bank.

Glad that Mum is back home from hospital but I do so wish she would
rest... but what is the saying "you can not teach an old dog new tricks"
not that I am calling Mum an old dog, more like an "old" lady...

Made a quick tag today and hope that it will fit in with several
challenges today.

I thought of C is for Camera ......

I first started with one of my paper stash splatter papers and made a tag

I then used AlteNew Say Cheese Stamps to stamp camera across the tag
I used various AlteNew inks in various layers.

Added a definition which I inked the edges with a hint of blue.

I hope you like it and would like to enter it for the following

Challenges

Thank you for your comments yesterday I did enjoy reading them.

I do feel that our life is what we make it, and it is up to us to make the most of
our time here. Sometimes things get in the way, and for me it is stress and worry.

But I have to remember that I am powerless over people places and things.
And this too shall pass.

Another saying is

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

and with that thought I will say bye for now.

Pink roses

Morning all

Thank you for your kind thoughts, comments, and love yesterday
about Mum and her fall and being in hospital.

Glad to say Mum came home late last night. Hopefully she will have a
day in bed resting.... !!! So glad Mum has a carer living in who is there 24/7 ....

Now to my card for today....

I have been "playing" with a selection of my kit called Sugar Rush, bought it years ago
and thought I really must start to use up my bibs and bobs.

I started with one of the backing papers, cut it down to fit a card blank but before I
mounted it onto the card blank added a hint of pink distress ink to the edges.

The backing paper has a texture to it.

Then added a selection of die cut toppers, flowers, ribbon  and butterflies to the card.

The oval topper has a very delicate "lace" section.

I hope you like it and would like to enter it for the following

Challenges

Well that is me for today for now.

My heart goes out to everyone who has had "problems" - the world seems to be
going mad, if you listen to the news.

It makes me realise that life is too short and you have to grab each day with
both hands and embrace the wonder.

I am glad I have my crafting to keep me in the moment.

A proverb I read yesterday said

" A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because
 it has a song"

Are we too busy looking for answers instead of just forgetting who we are?

And with that I will let you have a great day.

Roses and butterflies

Morning all and thank you for popping in today.

Thank you for your kind words yesterday about Mum, waiting this morning to
see if she will be discharged from hospital.

Needless to say I was awake in the early hours .... but fortunately went back to sleep.

Here is a wee card I was working on yesterday.

I used up the Hunkydory "insert" paper I used the other day for the dress in Pink out of Africa.

Used worn lipstick around the edge of the card blank and paper.

Mounted the paper onto the card blank and then used Nuvo drops all over the picture.

Added pink gems and a pink ribbon  (which was white)  and pinkish butterfly to the card.

I quite like the texture now on the card.

I hope you do

Challenges

Thank you for coming over to see me.

The latest - just now - about Mum is that she needs an MRI scan, she does not want it,
saying she feels fine, but WE have persuaded her to have it - just to check everything.

Hopefully it will be done and dusted today and she will be home
tonight.

There is nothing like your own bed - is there?

Well think I will now pop out for a walk as yesterday did not get one
in as waiting by the phone.

Have a great day and just to show you the veg picked this morning by Den and the last of
the black currants by me yesterday.

Sympathy Carnations

Afternoon all and thank you for dropping in to see me today.

Was woken early this morning from Mum's carer saying they were
at the hospital. Mum had a fall and went by ambulance to hospital.

Been a bit of a "no go" day for me today, worried as you can imagine.

Have just made this quick CAS card and think that maybe
due to my thoughts, this card, is a reflection of my feelings.

But here it is

First I used one of my cut down pieces of card - yes the pink colour today.
As you can see - my mopped up card stocks are one of my trade marks...
just love the way I get something different each time and there is NO
waste of inks/ watercolours/ powders etc.

Inked up the Clarity Carnation stamp with black ink and used a watercolor
pen to colour in the flower.

Added Worn lipstick ink to the card blank ....and

added a little extra inks around the edge of the topper.

Mounted the topper onto the card blank and added a snippet of
card sentiment from my stash.... Sympathy.

I hope you like it and would like to enter it for the following

Challenges

Thank you for your comments and look forward to a better day tomorrow.

Pink out of Africa

Hi there and thank you for dropping in to see me
on this Sunday.

Hope you are well and enjoying your day.

Horrid weather here today - rain - but am I disappointed - NO
the garden needs the rain, and it has given me a
chance to catch up the that "housework" !!!

Always prefer to be doing craft or the garden I have to say, but
things do need to be done.

Chicken is in the oven so thought I would share my card
with you today.

I made it with the New Clarity Stamps - using just the lady from the Africa set.

But first made one of my backgrounds using Ken Oliver Burst powders, puffing
a bit onto my glass mat, spraying it, and mopping up with white card stock.

Cut down to size and stamped in black ink on the card stock.

Then used a scrap of "insert" paper to make the dress, and highlighted with

a pink alcohol pen. Cut out the sections and used wet glue to stick onto the dress.

Used pink distress inks to create further texture and design for the background
using a stencil.

Added a ribbon bow and ribbon border and a sentiment.

I hope you like it and would like to enter it for the following

Challenges

I am so glad that you have taken the time to come over to visit me.

I find, in times of stress, to spend my time either crafting, blogging, or gardening
so helpful.

I have some wonderful friends in Blogland

so a big thank you from me to you.

Tongue in cheek

Hi - how are you this fine morning?

Bit cooler here, not sure if rain is in the air so thought I would be early this morning
with my card and get out into the garden while I can.

A little bit of tongue in cheek here for The Craft Barn Challenge
as there is usually a twist of adding a dragonfly :)

So here is one all by itself.

I started off with one of my background cards which is one of my trade marks
for my cards. Making my own backgrounds with mopped up inks, paints or powders.

Added colour to the edges and then stamped the Clarity Stamp dragonfly
with AlteNew ink onto the cut down card stock

The mounted to a white card blank - again I used the same ink as the edges around
the edges of the card blank.

Added die cut out sentiment Happy Birthday

A nice quick simple CAS card

I hope you like it  and would like to enter it for the following

Thank you for popping over.

I look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Wheels of time

Afternoon - how are you this Friday.

Been a busy morning for me, so far, had to look at my hard drives for photos that were taken
ages ago. Mum has lost her photos of "family items" so I have been on a mission.

Found a good selection which will help and can always take more photos when we
visit her later this year.

Mum has certainly changed since her stroke....

But that to one side here is my card for today.

I have used IndigoBlu Stamp on one of my background papers.

Inked up in black archival ink.

Mounted onto a cream card blank which I have highlighted with blue to
bring it all in together.

Added a black die cut Happy Birthday :)

I hope you like it and would like to enter it for the following

I have tried to think outside the box for this challenge by calling my card
Wheels of time :)

Challenges

Thank you for popping in.

Been out in the garden this morning picking blackcurrants ! Have a bowl of them weighing
3 lbs !! That is a lot of currants to process.

Nearly done now.

Have a good rest of the day.

Been reading a very interesting novel about someone who has developed dementia
and how it is affecting the whole family. Ok I know that it is a novel but it does
make me think, as my late step father had dementia.

Well on that note

best get on

Glossy sheep

Afternoon all

Going to be a quick blog today - feeling rather stressed with all that is
happening today.

Not a good day - families who would have them????

But here is my card for today which I have got finished.

First I started with one of my background papers and stamped in black the
Wavy Sheep stamp from Little Claire Designs.

Added a bit of colour to the field, and flowers.

Then added Nuvo pearl drops to make texture for the wool on the sheep.

Added Nuvo drops to the corners. Mounted onto orange paper and used
peel-offs around the edges and Happy Birthday sentiment.

Then on a white card blank added a hint of colour to the background

Hope you like it and would like to enter it for the following

Challenges

Thank you for popping in today

Off out now for a bit of fresh air away from the phone, mobile, and computer.

Balloons and the heat

Afternoon everyone and are you melting?

I am glad I made my card which I will show today for you - yesterday
as with this heat I am unable to think. I have just taken a photo of
our thermometer outside and have a look at the bottom of my blog.

Here is my card

I started with one of my mopped up background cards, cut it down to size.

Then used up snippets of mirri card from my stash and die cut out the balloons
with a die from Tattered Lace.

Got into the swing of cutting them out using my mini die cutting machine.

Added the mirri balloons and die cut out Happy Birthday in black card
and drew in ribbons for the balloons.

Mounted onto mirri gold card and onto a cream coloured card blank.

I think this makes it a clean and simple card.

I would like to enter it for the following

Now for that temperature ..... and as I write it is nearly to 50 !!! Ok I know it is
where the sun is but this is a sun trap of a garden.
But it is even too hot for me...

In doors it is 27 C

I do feel for the little ones and the older folk

Just to show you our peas... they are nearly 5 foot tall - why - I dont know....

Picked finally all of one bush of Black currants - around 6 lbs frozen :)

Must dash so have a good day and look forward to seeing you
again over on my blog.

Glad to say made the Top 3 over at Ikes World challenge which was a nice surprise today.

Hope to see you again
